Jamie's Tempo: He's FAST!
What you can learn from his backswing:
Hopefully you saw Jamie Sadlowski hitting the golf ball over 400 yards at the REMAX WLDC. If so, you probably noticed he has an amazing swing and that he’s FAST: both in his CHS (143-148 mph) and his Tempo. His tempo is 21/6, which is lightning with that length of backswing. There is so much to be learned from this swing. Jamie fits my model for...
pound for pound, the longest hitter ever PERIOD... →
The REMAX World Long drive Championship airs tomorrow and Christmas day on ESPN and ESPN 2. I highly recommend watching it for many reasons, but the main one is to see the future of golf. He’s a 20 yr. old kid from Canada that can carry a golf ball 4 bills. (His name is Jamie Sadlowski) That’s right 400 yds! Here’s the cool part, he’s my size, about 6 foot, 165...
How to Set Up Like a Tour Pro and Prevent Lower... →
When I was in Sweden, one of the things that really intrigued me about TPI was the way Greg & Dave showed how you must “set” the pelvis when you address the golf ball. The pelvis must be able to move and if it cannot you’ll lose power & possibly be on the road to injury. So, when the DEC issue of Golf Digest came out, I was glad to see some of that info in the article that they wrote.

The Truth about Training Aids (link) →
Kelvin is really on to something here because most training aids do the work for you. Another great example is a heavy or weighted club. When you swing one the momentum you create thru the hitting area shuts your muscles off and they’re holding on for dear life.
Contrast that with the speedball power module! When you hit the Power Module if you don’t create more speed and...

The Hardest Worker in Golf →
Click on the above link for a good interview with Padraig Harrington. Padraig talks about how he is willing to try new things to keep improving and I think that is what separates him from the other players. He has an open mind and when he combines that with his desire, insane work ethic, mad short game, and being physically fit and you can see why he was POY and why I think he will have a huge...
World Golf Fitness Summit Part I
I’ve just returned from Disneyland! Well, I was a half wedge away from Disneyland, but I was like a kid at a theme park when I attended the World Golf Fitness Summit held recently in Anaheim. The WGFS is put on by the Titleist Performance Institute - see www.mytpi.com and is held annually (I think they’re moving to every other year). It is held to bring together the top minds in Golf &...
WGFS Part II
Gray Cook was next and he discussed what we can learn from primitive movement patterns. Watch a 2 year old pick up a heavy object or squat and you’ll see perfect form. Watch a 42 year old try to do the same squat move and it’s not so pretty. So why are we having golfer’s squat when they can’t do it? We must find out why they can’t squat properly first, then give them the correction for...
